Confirmation Preparation for High School Teens
“Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. To this end, catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community. The latter bears special responsibility for the preparation of confirmands.” (CCC #1309)

The Goal of Our Lady of Fatima’s Confirmation Preparation Program is to form disciples by leading teens to:

Encounter God and develop a personal relationship with God and His Church
Experience the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
Enrich a deeper understanding of their Catholic faith.
Develop their gifts and talents to spread the Good News.

The Confirmation candidates meet on select Sundays beginning with 5:00pm mass followed by class at the McGowan Hall from 6:00-8:00pm. The program consists of Confirmation meetings, service opportunities, retreats and other parish or diocesan events. Confirmation candidates are required to attend a minimum of 12 classes per year.

Youth Ministry

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
(1 Timothy 4:12)

This program provides the opportunity for all High School students -regardless of grade or faith background - to learn and grow in their faith alongside other teens from their Confirmation class, parish or school.  We meet every Wednesday evening beginning with games and snacks at 6:30, followed by a lesson, talk or faith-based discussion, and ending in prayer with praise and worship at 8:00pm.
